PARK ELECTROCHEMICAL CORP. ANNOUNCES REASSIGNMENT OF OFFICER RESPONSIBILITIES
Melville, New York, January 19, 2007….Park Electrochemical Corp. (NYSE-PKE) announced the appointments of Howard R. Elliott as Vice President of Asian Business Development and Louis J. Stans as Vice President of Research and Development.
In the new position of Vice President of Asian Business Development, Mr. Elliott will be responsible for business development relating to all of the Company’s product lines in Asia. This new position for Mr. Elliott will be critical for the Company, as the Company believes that Asia will be the highest growth region for all of its product lines for the long-term future. Mr. Elliott will continue to serve as the President of Nelco Products Pte. Ltd., Park’s advanced materials subsidiary located in Singapore, and as President of Nelco Technology (Zhuhai FTZ) Ltd., Park’s electronics circuitry material subsidiary located in Zhuhai, China. Mr. Elliott will continue to be based in Singapore, and he will continue to report to Brian E. Shore, Park’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Stans will replace Mr. Elliott as Vice President of Research and Development and will be responsible for the leadership of the Company’s global research and development activities. Mr. Stans will continue to serve as the Company’s Vice President of Engineering and Quality, and he also will continue to report to Mr. Shore.
Prior to his appointment as President of Nelco Products Pte. Ltd. and of Nelco Technology (Zhuhai FTZ) Ltd. in August 2005, Mr. Elliott had been the President of Neltec, Inc., Park’s high-technology advanced materials business unit located in Tempe, Arizona. Prior to becoming President of Neltec, Inc. in January 2005, Mr. Elliott had over twenty years of management experience in the high-performance printed circuitry materials industry. Mr. Elliott held senior engineering, technology, research and operations positions at Isola USA Corp., Matsushita Electronic Materials, Inc., Polyclad Technologies, Inc., Allied-Signal, Inc., Hughes Aircraft Company and Texas Instruments, Inc. Mr. Elliott received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Arizona in 1984.
Mr. Stans joined Park as Vice President of Engineering in December 2004 and was appointed to the additional position of Vice President of Quality in October 2005. Prior to joining Park, Mr. Stans held senior engineering and technology positions at Photocircuits Corporation, Dayton T. Brown, Inc. and Grumman Aerospace Corporation. Mr. Stans received a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering science from Hofstra University in 1970 and a Master of Science degree in industrial management from State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1981.
