PARK ELECTROCHEMICAL CORP. ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF VICE PRESIDENT OF ENGINEERING OF ITS PARK AIRCRAFT TECHNOLOGIES CORP. SUBSIDIARY

Melville, New York, August 5, 2009……Park Electrochemical Corp. (NYSE-PKE) announced the appointment of Mr. Anand Kathula as Vice President of Engineering of its Park Aircraft Technologies Corp. aircraft composite materials and technologies subsidiary in Newton, Kansas. In this new position, Mr. Kathula will be responsible for all the engineering aspects of the aircraft related activities and product lines of Park Electrochemical Corp. and its subsidiaries. Mr. Kathula will report to Tom Pursch, who is President of Park Aircraft Technologies Corp.

Mr. Kathula had been Technical Director, Structural Testing and Materials at Epic Aircraft LLC in Bend, Oregon since August 2006 and Lead Engineer for Composites and Adhesives at Columbia Aircraft Manufacturing Corp., formerly The Lancair Company, from April 2001 to August 2006. Previously, he had been a Process Engineer at Thermo-O-Coat in Wichita, Kansas from July 2000 to April 2001 and a Research Assistant at the National Institute for Aviation Research in Wichita, Kansas from August 1996 to May 2000. Mr. Kathula received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Gulbarga University in India and a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from Wichita State University.
