PARK ELECTROCHEMICAL CORP. ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF VICE PRESIDENT OF ADVANCED COMPOSITE OPERATIONS

Melville, New York, March 6, 2006….Park Electrochemical Corp. (NYSE – PKE) announced the appointment of Carl W. Smith as Vice President of Advanced Composite Operations. In this position, Mr. Smith will supervise the operations of FiberCote Industries, Inc., Park’s wholly-owned, advanced composite materials manufacturing subsidiary in Waterbury, Connecticut, and he will report to Brian Shore, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Park.

Mr. Smith has many years of manufacturing, sales and management experience in the composite materials industry. Mr. Smith first joined Park as Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer for Nelco International Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Park, in April 1998 and was elected Senior Vice President, North American Business Unit, of Park in May 1999, a position which he held until February 27, 2000. Since that time, he has held senior management positions at Reinhold Industries, Inc. Prior to joining Park in 1998, Mr. Smith held various management and technical positions at General Dynamics Convair, Martin Marietta Corporation, Fiberite Inc., where he served as President and Chief Operating Officer from 1995 to 1997, and Cytec Fiberite Inc., where he served as Vice President, Operations from 1997 to 1998.
