Electroglide® is an epoxy-based composite surfacing film with embedded metal mesh that is designed for Aircraft Lightning Protection of composite parts.   

Electroglide provides superior airplane lightning protection while improving the surface finish of the composite material after manufacturing. It is compatible with most epoxy prepregs, aerospace primers and paints. Electroglide Aircraft Lightning Protection features excellent tack and drape at room temperature, long prepreg storage life and out time and flexible processing.

On Wednesday, May 2, 2018… Park Aerospace Corp. (NYSE-PKE) announced that its recently introduced Electroglide Lightning Strike Protection Prepreg has been qualified by a major aerospace OEM for use on composite engine nacelle structures for a major civilian aircraft program. Flexible Processing – Autoclave/Oven Cure

  • Cure cycle based on underlying epoxy prepreg material
  • Electroglide surfacing film can be cured using autoclave, vacuum/oven or laminated press cure cycles
  • Electroglide surfacing film is co-cure compatible with both 250°F and 350°F epoxy cure cycles.
