Park Electrochemical Announces 50th Anniversary of Its Founding

Lake Success, New York, March 31, 2004…Park Electrochemical Corp. (NYSE – PKE) , which was originally incorporated on March 31, 1954, announces the 50th anniversary of its founding.

Brian Shore, Park’s President and CEO, said, “Fifty years ago on this day, my father, Jerry Shore, and Tony Chiesa started our company with very little money, but with a lot of innovation, creativity and will. Back in those days, the company survived on its wits and its will to succeed. Back in those days, the company solved problems with ingenuity, creativity and improvisation rather than by throwing money at them, because the company had very little money. We as a company come from very humble but also very auspicious beginnings. Some say we have come a long way as a company, but, in my opinion, the best of who we are now has its roots in who we were then at the very beginning. If the company is to survive and succeed in the future, it will only be because of our willingness to persevere, to take risks, to be innovative, to be creative and to solve our problems with our wits and our will. Really, we owe everything we are today to the spirit and relentlessness of those who have gone before us and particularly those who started our business back on March 31, 1954 in that small little factory in Woodside, Queens, New York.”
