Park Electrochemical Announces RF / Microwave Material Manufacturing in the United States

Lake Success, New York, March 21, 2002… Park Electrochemical Corp. (NYSE – PKE)announced that it is now manufacturing RF / Microwave materials at its Neltec high performance materials facility in Tempe, Arizona.

Neltec has recently completed the installation of the first large platen 50″ x 80″ PTFE press and now has the capability of manufacturing PTFE materials in the United States. The manufacturing capability in Tempe, Arizona will augment the existing Neltec SA manufacturing capability in Lannemezan, France and will more than triple Neltec’s capacity to produce PTFE products worldwide. The large platen press allows Park/Nelco to satisfy long-laminate antennae applications.

Park/Nelco’s N9000 product line consists of PTFE RF/microwave materials used in high-speed wireless applications for the cellular, automotive, and military markets. N9000 materials also meet the market demands for hybrid construction combining N9000 with Park/Nelco’s other materials. This capability allows designers to combine functions on a single circuit board thereby saving space and reducing costs.
