Park Electrochemical Corp. Announces UL Recognition and OEM Approvals of the N4000-2 EF® Environmentally Friendly Product

LAKE SUCCESS, New York, May 23, 2001… Park Electrochemical Corp. (NYSE – PKE announced that its N4000-2 EF® bromine-free epoxy FR-4 multilayer material system has received UL recognition, including 94V-0 flame retardancy classification. Park/Nelco also announced that the N4000-2 EF® system has already received OEM approval from three major OEM’s. The EF® series of laminate and prepreg is designed to bridge the gap between existing high performance materials and the bromine-free and reduced-halogen requirements demanded by environmentally conscious OEM’s worldwide. The N4000-2 EF provides a viable alternative to major electronics manufacturers seeking to eliminate halogens such as bromine in the newer environmentally friendly products. N4000-2 EF is designed for use in high-density multilayer boards and is suitable for surface mount multilayers. This product retains the wide process latitude normally associated with fiberglass reinforced epoxy laminate systems.
